Weekend randoms and dog costumes

Happy football Sunday errbody.   Hope you all had a spectacular weekend!

My weekend was pretty random.  I didn’t do anything special but it was nice 🙂

I took a long walk on Friday and thought to myself how it really hasn’t felt like fall here (it’s been abnormally hot) but it sure is starting to look like fall here!

Then on Saturday we had to run a few errands before the weather turned to shit.  Before we ran said errands, we had to pick up some lunch and stumbled upon this!!!!

HELLLOOO!  How awesome is this?!?!  It seriously made my day.  I have also come to the conclusion that when Scooby kicks the bucket, I am buying a Pug as a replacement and I am going to name him Pig.  It’s going to be great.

Then today, I ventured out for lunch and more errands and stumbled upon this sign next to the train station.

I’m not sure what a “Donet” is but it sure looks as tasty as a donut!

And then this happened:

Poor Susan, she never knew what she had coming, ha!

Now I am just sitting here looking for dog costumes to throw my money away purchase for my dogs and I thought I would share my favorites.

I actually already have this one and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

Found here, it’s only $15…what a steal!

For the future Mr. Pig, the Pug:

This little guy looks like my Scoob:

Apparently, he was the “Wile E. Coyote“?  I don’t care what he was, he is freaking awesome!

Or perhaps if you have a larger dog…

All right, I’ll stop wasting your time, have a great weekend!

I have a problem and some random photos

Hey party people!  How’s your week coming along?

Mine has been a little rough but I guess that tends to happen from time to time, right?

Aside from my rough week, I have been struggling to keep my diet in check.  For me, once I start eating shitty food, it slowly morphs into a problem <— where I’m at now.

SO, with that being said, it is time to clean. it. up.  For the rest of the week, I am going to work on my path to eating clean again.  Which means I am going to focus on cutting out the following:

1) Sugar (ice cream, I’m looking at you!)

2) Alcohol (waaah!!!)

3) Processed carbs

My weekends these days have been fairly boring so I haven’t been taking pictures like I usually do.  There are a couple of random pictures from the last few weeks that I thought I would share.

A friend of ours, Ryan is going to run the Chicago marathon and so he and his wife had a little rooftop party to help raise money for PAWS.  The rooftop had a cool view of Union Station.

And the food was quite delicious!

Sunshine + Beer (which I don’t ordinarily drink but…when in Rome, right?)

I went on a run for the first time in a loooong time and snapped a quick photo of the skyline.  I did a .5 mile warm up + 3 mile run + .5 mile cool down.  My legs are still giving me issues so I think I’ll have to continue to layoff for a while 😦

Now that the summer is winding down, we were sure to grab at least one more concert in the park.  Boy was it CROWDED!  Crowds are not my favorite (read: I am a total lunatic when it comes to crowds in that I. can’t. deal.) so we left at intermission.

We had a little lunch at West End because we could bring the dogs.  I’m not sure why though because every time they come, I get so annoyed that I begin to question my life choices.

That’s all I’ve got for now!

Has anyone else been slipping up when it comes to food or fitness goals?

-As usual, I find that the fitness/working out part is easy but my real challenge is with my diet!

To do lists, (belated) photo dump and DOGS

Hello! I hope you guys enjoyed Bryan’s post!

If you know me, you know I like to make lists.  So, every day I try to make a little list of what I want to accomplish for that day.  Today’s list:

Item number 3 brings me here 😉

Anyway, this last week has been fairly uneventful.  We joined a kickball league and decided to practice before it started.  So on Saturday we did our thing.  Well, apparently kickball is no good for you if you’ve got a metal rod in your kicking ankle.  So, I have been left with a gimp ankle this whole week.  As such, my workouts looked like this:

Monday: 3 mile (turtle-paced) walk outside with dogs + husband

Tuesday: kick-ass spin class

Today: 25 minute elliptical + upper body/abs workout

Nothing to write home about, I know.

Here is a little photo dump for your viewing pleasure…

I’m running a 10k that benefits breast cancer on Monther’s Day and I got my bib in the mail (terrible picture, I know…pfft, husbands!).

On Saturday, Bryan & I went for a 4 mile run and then after, I rode my bike over to this cute vintage market to meet up with Leslie.

I REALLY liked that dresser but unfortunately, I am not currently in the market for one, sigh #firstworldproblems  On the bright side, champagne was involved!

Kickball with the Frenks on Sunday.

When I was in college, my dear friend (who was my roomie back then) got a Pug and named him Bruno.  WELL, the other day she sent me a picture of this cute little guy that I miss so much and he has a gray beard, just look!!!

Image

I really can’t take his cuteness.

THEN, the other day I was walking during lunch to meet up with my husband and look who I happened upon:

ImageThe one on the left is all like “excuse me, I am just drinking my water and waiting for the bus, nothing to see here!”

Ah, and just because, here’s a picture of my 3 main men chillaxin’

Hope you guys have a good rest of the week!

Any animal that simply makes you swoon?!?!?!
